Mary Ann Malack-Ragona

Mary Ann Malack-Ragona joined the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center in 2003.  In the 15 years she spent at ADRC’s helm, she navigated a challenging course. Tenacity, dedication, hard work and truly caring for others characterize her contribution.  And thousands of people on Long Island benefit every year from the counselling, support services, therapy programs, education and research efforts Mary Ann initiated. Sadly, Mary Ann passed away in December 2018 but her legacy and the organization she built remains dedicated to the mission: a future free from Alzheimer’s.

The Neuwirth Family

Mickey and Felice Neuwirth provided the extraordinary personal and financial support that resulted in the creation of the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center’s home in Bay Shore.  It is known as the Mickey and Felice Neuwirth Care Center.

Mickey Neuwirth knew firsthand the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease because he was a caregiver for his mother.  He and his wife shared a strong conviction that families who are facing Alzheimer’s should be supported, in as many ways as possible.

Their daughter, Bobbie Braun, continues to advance their vision and honor their legacy.  She serves as an Advisory Board Member for the ADRC.  The ADRC gratefully acknowledges the Neuwirth family’s outstanding generosity and commitment to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
